Hiking and mountain climbing

The Ötztal is known as a hiking paradise. Countless marked hiking trails lead you through the valley and up to the summit. From family-friendly hiking trails and challenging alpine tours to panoramic paths and hikes across borders that last several days. In various places, you can also use the mountain railway for your ascent or descent. It’s up to you.

At the entrance to the Ötztal, you’ll find “Area47”, the largest outdoor adventure park in Austria. From a bathing lake and the Ötzi Village to hiking and mountain bike routes, huts and places to stop off and the many summer mountain railways and excursions - you’ll find everything here.

In Sölden, you can experience the Glacier Road in your own car. At the end of the valley, follow the serpentine roads of Timmelsjoch until you reach Italy.
